Al Serkal Avenue Galleries Night
Monday January 12 was the first Al Serkal Avenue Galleries Night of 2015. All participating galleries showed an excellent collection of work although some were a slightly more absorbing then others.
I made my usual round starting at the beginning and worked my way through all the lanes and galleries. Some of the pieces were completely captivating and very original. There were many interesting installations this time in addition to the more traditional paintings.
I spoke with a few gallery managers and they explained some of the processes and stories behind the work and the artists’ creativity they told of certainly drove up the fabulous quotient significantly.
The exhibitions are on for at least a month and I would strongly suggest a visit when possible. I may in fact head down there again and immerse myself further and deeper this time.
Al Serkal Avenue Galleries Night 2015 was an imaginative and inspiring experience.
